in general just calculate ur taxes without considering the capital gain.

then, add ur capital gain on top of ur other income. to the extent it doesn't exceed $77,200 if married-joint or half that if single, it's taxed at 0%. then 15% until it hits $479,000 if married-joint or half that if single. then 20% past that.
